Zig-Zag Tales is Sue Povall
I am a daughter, sister, aunty, friend…
Kindness, caring, listening, supporting and learning are veRy important values for me.
I have lived in England, Africa, Belgium, America and Australia. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to travel to many other places besides.
I have cherished friends from everywhere I have lived. I have listened to, learned from and delighted in their stories.
Between 2007 and 2020, I worked as a qualitative researcher in Public Health, which is about gathering stories and learning from them (even if we don’t use those terms very often).
What a privilege it is—talking to and listening to people.
I have a statistics degree and have worked as a computer programmer. I also have a degree in health studies and a PhD in Public Health. Maths was my best subject at school. All very sensible and logical. But my old school reports also said I did well at creative exercises … and that’s what I have been missing in life. And that’s what stories give me. Creativity!
I love it when people come with me into the world of the stories I tell. And I love making up stories of my own.
I have always been good at bringing people together and facilitating understanding. Now I get to do that in a creative and inclusive way.
